changing things up

alright so this blog has sucked up until now it's been more of an online journal about my high school fencing team than anything else which i admit it no one would want to read. but my life is moveing forward and i have decided to make the appropriate changes to this blog becasue i like the name to much to start over with a different one.

so look for the hopefully soon to come posts in which i plan to talk about some stuff that has been on my mind recantly including the stagnation of human evolution, and how much and why i hate the show finding bigfoot.

hello from school again

well once again I'm posting from my fourth block class were I am listening to Christmas music annoying people who won't shut up and the rap music emanating from the i-pod of the guy sitting across from me that combined with the computer screen has once again given me a headache so here I sit wishing for silence and killing time by blogging.

Debates

The only thing I have learned from debates is that my knowledge of history is limited at best and nonexistent at worst, and I really don't care. History is not half as interesting or as exciting as fiction, and honestly too learn enough about any section of history to be truly knowledgeable you need to read at least three books and usually more than that. With science I can read one book or watch one show and understand the concept behind just about anything and go from there. It's so much easier for me and I don't have the time to read three books about every major point of dispute in history. So I stick to my specialty's which are fiction and science. I can analyse fiction and I can understand science, so I'll stick to those and my personal morals and philosophy's.

Cross Roads

I keep running into cross roads lately.

I've been talking with my Uncle who keeps forcing me to challenge my religious beliefs. in a good way, I'm learning a lot about the faith that before I would just try to ignore. answering questions i was afraid to ask but the answers are not what I expected. They don't fill me with anger or rebellion. They are simple but they fit and they don't contradict and it's kinda calming.

I'm reading Fahrenheit 451, which talks about books being replaced by the instant gratification of images and sounds even if those images and sounds are completely lacking in quality. that has me questioning how good manga really are even though many are just comic books for some time now I have asserted that many or at least some are just as good as any novel from the respective genre. Fahrenheit 451 has me questioning the accuracy of that statement.

feels like all I'm doing lately is questioning myself.

Fair

Impressions from the fair.

First of all the more the merrier although it is best when the more are your best friends. Tim and Tang and Patrick were all not there. so i did a lot of walking, and met up with a lot of my friends who aren't my best friends. including EGE, mandachan, and Laura, Laura and the EGE do not seem to understand the concept of not challenging a fencer to anything resembling fencing, how silly of them. I did ditch them on several occasions when they started long conversations about stuff I knew nothing about. I also met up with a bunch of people from the fencing team.

the rides don't do a lot for me you know? fear is one of several emotions that I just don't do so I don't really get an adrenaline rush from going on the rides which is why i think rides are better with more people at least then you have somebody to lough with.

When a cute girls asks me if I want to buy a balloon answering no is not something I seem to be capable of doing.

final thought. PDA's are awkward for the rest of us. I'm sure that those involved are enjoying themselves, judging from how they go at it, but watching a pair of girls necking is just a tad bit disturbing to watch.

reverse senioritis

It's not that I'm getting lazy I'm just sick of learning all this stuff and having nothing to apply it too. I want to work on something real for a change.

stupid essay

working on my collage essay. since my Mom kept telling me that this was how they were going to get to know me and it should express something about me. It somehow turned into me talking about the majority of the negative emotions i have experianced in my life and how they made me who I am today. I will most likely just end up rewriting it because I'm worried it will come across as me bitching about having a shity life, which, if you ask me, was definatly the case between the start 6grade and start of 9 grade. but thats really not what i had in mind i was really aiming for something along the lines of, "this is what my life was, this is what my life is now, and this is what I want it to be". well i got the first part coverd anyway.

Transformers

Today I saw something... interesting, odd, unusual. Anyway it was a truck with the license plait, ATOBOT, and a window sticker for both Autobots and Desepticons

back from Vermont

OK so no sailing because of weather, but i did have to bail out my tent. i got a ton of mosquito bites,on arms, legs, fingers, and feet. we stoped of at Cape Cod where some of our relatives had rented a cotage and that was when i started to have a good time. found a dead something shark and got a picture with it as if i had actualy cought it. went snorkaling and saw very little but had fun anyway and watched that meteor shower we had last night saw more than 35 in some amount of time not sure how long i was actually out there. i finished three books and am halfway through a fourth. i will start catching up on every ones blogs tomorrow i think

Manga Math

1 volume = $10 = 30min of reading
1 novel = $8-10 = 10+hours of reading

as an example 244 chapters of Naruto = 27 volumes and that was just Naruto's years as a kid, now there on to his teenage years and his adult life is supposed to come after that,or so I'm told.

the simple fact is that even though there are some really great manga out there and I mean on par with some high quality novels, it does not make sense economically to buy manga. that is why online sites, especially the ones that let you read for free, are so great.

when i say on par with some high quality novels i am not talking about Naruto on a scale of 1 to 10 naruto only rates about a 6.5 with me.

Training

well i realized that i let myself get out of shape over the first half of summer. so now i am training my ass off, literally and figuratively, so that i can go back to school in good shape and hopefully by the time the fencing season roles around be in the best shape of my life. well that's the plan anyway, but for now I'm just settling for smaller portions at meals and lots of hard work.

old authors

it's sad really, after a certain amount of time books stop getting reprinted, unless they are an undeniable classic. many fine authors have and will continue to fall into anonymity just because there works were printed in years long past. there books just get harder and harder to find

Golf

is not a sport or at least I can not except it as a sport also I suck at golf. my Grandfather took my brother and I to a driving range today, on a whim, very unusual. anyway I did manage to hit quite a few a fair distance (I think) but I had no consistency or control over direction and on top of that sometimes I would miss the ball altogether probably the dumbest incident was when I somehow managed to hit a golf ball almost straight up so that it actually hit me square in the back coming back down. bottom line golf not something I am aspiring too.

Cartoon Network

Is run by idiots. Cartoon Network flaw is trying to beet Nickelodeon in the appeal to little kids category while also trying to appeal to preteens with that stuff you only show on Friday after 8 o'clock.

Screw that. They need to stop trying to appeal to little kids because they will never beet Nickelodeon at that. Then they need to take it up a notch on this stuff they keep writing for preteens.

The best part of Cartoon Network was Fridays they had violent stuff that appealed to teenagers, stuff with violence, some swearing, and girls that made the guys take notice, and guys that made the girls take notice.

Not anymore. The quality has gone down hill. So I say if Cartoon Network really wanted some good ratings they should play there new stuff during the day and then after like 5 or something they should start playing the good stuff, Naruto, One Piece, dig out the old Zoids episodes, and find any anime of the real popular manga say, Bleach, Fair Tale, any of onemanga.com's top 50 manga that include unrealistic fight scenes.

If they did that there rating's would probably shoot through the roof and I know I'm right about that because manga are popular for a reason and I can't understand why nobody involved in television can't see the connection between manga and anima.

landscaping

i have a summer job sort of anyway. basically i am helping out this elderly lady with her yard which is in need of a fair amount of work. so for the time being i have a summer job and am waiting to see about a summer internship with EB.

Summer day 3

Have read, played video games, watched tv and movies. Guess I'm gonna start cleaning my room now. No real drive to work but also no interest in goofing off for much longer without actually doing something first.
