Cartoon Network

Is run by idiots. Cartoon Network flaw is trying to beet Nickelodeon in the appeal to little kids category while also trying to appeal to preteens with that stuff you only show on Friday after 8 o'clock.

Screw that. They need to stop trying to appeal to little kids because they will never beet Nickelodeon at that. Then they need to take it up a notch on this stuff they keep writing for preteens.

The best part of Cartoon Network was Fridays they had violent stuff that appealed to teenagers, stuff with violence, some swearing, and girls that made the guys take notice, and guys that made the girls take notice.

Not anymore. The quality has gone down hill. So I say if Cartoon Network really wanted some good ratings they should play there new stuff during the day and then after like 5 or something they should start playing the good stuff, Naruto, One Piece, dig out the old Zoids episodes, and find any anime of the real popular manga say, Bleach, Fair Tale, any of onemanga.com's top 50 manga that include unrealistic fight scenes.

If they did that there rating's would probably shoot through the roof and I know I'm right about that because manga are popular for a reason and I can't understand why nobody involved in television can't see the connection between manga and anima.

I need to shave

Ha ha guess that is kind of a weird title for a post huh?

Oh well see first i got up at like 6:30 this morning oh wait today was a Saturday, WTF was i doing getting up at 6:30 on a Saturday?! The answer? ACT testing. The close relative of the SAT's. Anyway i think i did pretty good on the ACT test this morning but i basically used the essay portion to complain about how crappy the essay question was, it still came out as a decent essay so it should be alright.

How does all that connect to the title i did not have time to shave before i left that's how. So then i finish the test go home leave for little brothers lacrosse tournament again no time to shave. So i walked around all day with this stupid blondish stubble on my face I'm a red head so why are my eyebrows and stubble a pale blondish color? Beets the hell out of me.

Um also i loved watching my brother and his team they played 4, 20 min games today, they won them all. Their match against NFA got um, lets just say it was the most violent of their season. My brother who is like 5' 8", 5' 9". Got intentionally tripped by someone who is actually unbelievably taller than he is. First for everything i guess. So the refs missed the fact that my brother got tripped and my brothers stick wasn't long enough to hit the guy back from on the ground, so my brother chucked it at him. =) Absolutely priceless. =) Also at the very end of the game two other kids almost got into a fight as well. It was a pretty intense for middle schoolers.

i took a nap after school today probably one of the best decisions i have made all semester. =)

also i have a new theory i call it the telomarketer theory.

the telomarcetor theory states that if i am the only person home, and i am playing Xbox live, the phone will ring at least 3 times. these calls can be spread out over as much as 30 min or they can all come within 2 min of one another. 9 out of 10 of these calls are made by telamarketers. the rest are family members.

the telemarketer theory also states that once i get off the Xbox the phone will not ring again for at least half an hour.

why does the telephone hate me!?

NO HOMEWORK!

but i have nothing to do. see instead of going home today i decided to stay after school so i could watch the states lacrosse game tonight which is supposed to start around 4.

problems: nothing to read, nothing to do, its really freaking hot in my Mom's classroom, the game is not until 4, it may be postponed anyway due to thunderstorms passing through the area, and if it starts raining during the game i am going to get soaked, also I'm feeling kinda hungry

so this may turn out to be several hours waisted, our a super awesome game that is worth every wasted min. either way I'll tell you later because right now i need to come up with something to do.

My Weekend

so basically my weekend went like this

watched Dr. horribles Sing along blog like 3 time because it was awesome despite the name sounding lame.

spent a lot of time on Onemanga.com reading "One Piece".

watched my brother play lacrosse, which is always great.

went to my uncle's birthday party and had to spend time around their "friends" some of whom are OK and some of whom are evil people hiding behind a religious veil. if that sounds dramatic I'm sorry but i need to explain that there are at least two very bad things that can happen because of religion, the first is that people who are, not exactly abusive but shall we say, they take excessive physical action in order to make children "behave", the second is that good people can become closed minded and except anyone who is devoutly religious as a good person without looking at there character.

both of those traits were evident at this party. i wont go into the details but i swear if i ever catch that guy in the act of doing anything harmful to my little cousins i will take full advantage of the opportunity and tell him "exactly" what i think of him, and if he gives me an excuse i will flatten that Bastard! Maybe having a teenager beet the living Crap (which i am assuming has replaced his soul) out of him will teach him to play nice with little kids!

Ghaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!

this is driving me more insane than usual and i am totally giving myself heartburn all because my aunt and uncle have shitty choices when it comes to friends! Dammit!

Thesis Paper update

I'm still typing, I'm more than half way there. I needed a quick break, a change of gear you know? just let my brain breath some fresh air again, and you know what i have decided something. this is my least favorite thesis paper ever.

who would want to right a 5 page paper about your opinion, and other peoples opinions on a short story? its not even "oh i thought this was a good book because" or "this is what i got out of this story" it's "the author was really trying to make a statement about" and "this character was inspired by" it's ridiculous.

honestly i really want to know who organized the educational system, because i would love to have a discussion with them about what the heck they were thinking when they decided it would be a good idea to make students right papers, based on other peoples papers, which were based on a book. because i am really having a hard time figuring out that concept.

hey all still no fencing updates other than lack of practice have me, well not out of shape, but certainly not in fencing shape. and with my brothers lacrosse schedule being so busy all USFA tournament options are on hold for the moment.

so i have been taking to my books and i don't mean my school books because those are just boring. so as usual i have found myself turning the pages of one good book after another.

Maximum Ride the Angel Experiment, by James Paterson has been a favorite of mine for a few years now. this book is one never ending adrenaline rush. everything from mad scientists to werewolves, sort of, and genetically recombined life forms.

its a great series my only problems with it are that with each new book the plot line gets farther away from what, in SYFY, passes for borderline believability and moves towards come on you have got to be kidding me ludicrous. mercifully in the latest book in the series Patterson has brought the plot back to basics.

my other problem with the series is that throughout the series Card has developed quite a few loose ends in the plot. stuff that could be developed into critical parts of the plot just gets abandoned never even mentioned again. some of the abilities of the main characters, recombinant life forms that drop of the map forever after just one paragraph. entire groups of sentient beings that just stop being a part of the story after one book.

still worse on at least one occasion the bad guy is never discovered or investigated or anything. and sometimes the villains intent is just completely left in the dark and brushed aside as unimportant. Mr. Patterson now that you have the flock public there is now reason why they wouldn't have thrown your latest villains in jail rather then let him, and it, sit in a freezer for a few hours instead of a prison cell for the rest of their lives.

and I'm sorry but one of the books (don't remember which off the top of my head, but i want to say it was the fourth or fifth book) was almost totally a petition to save the earth. not that i mind that, heck I'm all for it, but in writing it Patterson almost completely abandoned the plot line, which i find inexcusable.

I'm sorry Mr. Patterson but if you don't get your act together this is one series you may end up killing all on your own. and it really would be a shame for that to happen because i really do love the series.

Global Warming my @$$

but wait no not even that!

alright first let me apologize to anyone who three years back or so i argued the validity of global warming with. this dose not mean that i except what we are doing to mother nature as not harmful, it just means that i admit the weather is getting colder not warmer and that global climate change was more accurate a title than global warming.

so yeah if that wasn't clear, i think we are screwing mother nature over and in exchange she is freezing, not warming, my @$$. it is spring and the temperature has been hanging around 70, although it had bounced up to the 80's for a few days a week or two back. we had turned off the heater, understandably.

however yesterday the wind had been a blowing and made it feel like it was 50 something out and this morning i woke up to a house that was around 54 degrees. (heater was turned off, hence the freezing theme) that old saying "don't like the weather in New England? wait five minuets" it is becoming more and more accurate every day.

it is seriously worrisome considering that is just the obvious small results in a harmless area from a weather standpoint. what happens with hurricanes and tornado's how bad or more frequent will that kind of weather become? we are destroying our planet and it is only a matter of time before our planet tries to return the favor.

We Are All Inheriting @#$%

Don't believe me? check out the news sometime. Mexico is going up in flames because of drug wars. the Earth is bleeding oil into the ocean faster than we can cope. Some guy threatened to bomb Time Square.

what the hell kind of planet are we really going to inherit from our parents well from were I'm standing right now it looks to be a pretty shity one.

I have read so many comments left online at Yahoo buzz written by people who are never happy with the government and never will be because it isn't there idea of perfect but you know what? that's how it is. it will never ever be every ones idea of perfect.

but since it can't meet every ones expectations here is a crazy naive idea that any 3 year old could come up with. STOP THE INSANITY

Everything that we need to do we know to do but we haven't done it. why not? because America as a nation, is both fascinated and terrified by change. we love the idea but we don't want to see it take place. sorry Obama, it got you into office but they won't love you for actually trying to accomplish it. (not saying i agree or disagree with everything or anything you want to change just stating a fact)

Mid West get over yourself and start installing solar panels and wind turbines and don't give me that bull @#$% about birds getting hit by the turbines or them being noisy.

Engineers get your heads out of your butts and find an alternative fuel source to gasoline, something that doesn't ruin the earth preferably.

Drug war people in Mexico, is it really worth the money to kill all those innocent people? you are selling your humanity for pieces of paper with numbers on them. it just is not worth it.

Big business owners you are taking advantage of Children! you have moved your company's around the world as country after country have declared underpaying children to do dangerous work illegal what if it was your kid risking getting their arm torn off in a machine for some almost nonexistent pay. how can you sleep at night?!

we all know what we can do to make a better world as individuals, as familys, as nations, as a species. Shouldn't that be enough of a reason? Just do it!

Dune

I'm not even 20 min into the movie Dune and i just want to say i already want to cry from disappointment. they have already omitted, edited, removed, and invented, so many major plot elements that i want to kill the director.

every fight seen was ruined. the knife duels, the force shield duels, the sword duels (they never even said may thy blade chip and shatter!)the Freeman had lazguns which oh yeah they never once used in the book! they absolutely destroyed the concept of the weirding way! all the stuff about the freeman culture was completely removed! the stillsuits had no face masks!

The Harkonans were portrayed as violent idiots! huge chunks of story line just disappeared into thin air! the Guild navigators were done all wrong! they didn't even come close to properly expressing the value of water on Dune! Hell they couldn't even do the ending right! this movie was as far from the book as it could have been while still using the same title. my lord what was the director smoking when he filmed this @#$%!

Never watch this movie! read the book but never, ever, watch this movie.

SAT's

To the person, group, or organization, that invented the SAT's. You have cursed humanity with your awful creation! I was at school from 7:30 AM until 1:30 PM on a SATURDAY I loath you! @#$%ed college required freaking test. I had to copy some legal paragraph saying I would not break the rules in @#$%ing cursive! I have not used cursive to write anything other than my name since fourth grade when they taught it to us! So that was almost worse than any section of the test. So yeah right now my brain hurts.

Day without my Meds

yeah I'm bad enough ADD that i take meds and today i could not get my meds because i ran out and had not gotten my prescription filed so it was a slightly interesting day

things to look for when i 'm not on my meds 1) shorter attention span (hard to tell because even when i get my meds it is still pretty dang short) 2) i have less tolerance for stupidity, idiocy and am more apt to be vocal about it 3)generally increased emotional responses

so how did it turn out well why don't i start by mentioning the most annoying jackass in any of my classes, Josh. and oh yeah he is in 4 of my 5 classes and sits near me at lunch (gahh man i hate him)

anyway he is completely annoying in English he trys to take everything literally he is always making references to family guy and for some reason he THINKS he is funny. well during English today he was talking while the teacher was talking AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN and i got fed up with it and told him to shut up. his response, "you shut up four eyes". bwahahaha so i said "what your a junior in high school and the best you can come up with is four eyes?!" bwahahahah oh man if that is all he can come up with he is worse off than i thought.

then at lunch when i was talking with Ben who is shall we say vertically challenged Josh who really annoys all of us said "hey Matt I'll give you 20 bucks to ride that midget" first i don't know why he was talking to me at all & this was not the first time he had said that (retarded jackass statement which by the way makes absolutly no sense to me) now with out my normal instinct to avoid conflicts of any kind i first told him that if he ever made fun of Ben again i would report him to the office plus some other non-specific insults that sounded very good.

then he started insulting fencing so i very edgily pointed out that his only sport is sitting on his you know what playing video games and that he is sitting at a table maid entirely up of people who know how to sword fight and that he is insulting our sport so he can shut up or leave. he then muttered that in his opinion fencing was not a sport but i think he got the point because that was the last i heard out of him.

so you know what I'm really considering taking my meds less often if this is the standard of what a day without them is like

Homework

this is my true feelings about Homework. you see the fact of the matter is that teenagers, namely ADD teenagers like myself, are very easy to distract. I get distracted during the middle of the day at school. so how the heck do teachers expect people to focus on work when they are at home with all the wonderful distractions of computers, video games, TV, book, music, ect.

I mean lets face it the point of going to school is to learn, therefore when we leave school we should be returning to our personal interests. in my case that would be fencing.

the point is that homework is in itself a contradiction of terms when a person is at home the only work a person should have to do is laundry, dishes, mowing the lawn and any other jobs vital to keeping their house from becoming a mess.

honestly i would rather have a longer school day and no homework than have homework to bring back with me every day.

Theoretical Physics

well thankfully our physics teacher rescinded his test order and we will only be tested on ch.6 not ch.6 and 8 which we will be starting on tomorrow, the day before our test.

however i want to make a few points clear i have a decent understanding of Einstein's theory of gravity i may not know how to do the math behind it but i understand the concept and i may well be the only one in my class who dose despite that i find myself struggling through most of our homework and Getting high marks on all the quizzes and tests. the reason being that only when we get something wrong does he finally explain how to do it.

that is the basis of our schools too theoretical physics concepts. the first being the theory that our teacher knows what he is talking about, and the second being that he knows how to teach. however as i have learned in the past many theories tend to be incorrect. this is even more true of assumptions which is what i believe the school board made when they hired our physics teacher.

Rain Rain Here to Stay Never Ever go Away

OK as you may or may not have heard from one of my friends the whole @#$% state is flooding!!!! thanks to which we got out of school at 10 o'clock!! my back yard is usually a swamp with a foot and a half wide stream running through it right now the entire swampy part is flooding and the stream part is alternating between 4, and 8 or 9feet wide and depth maxes out around 8 to 10 inches in most places only 3 or 4 inches but still!! did i mention our buss was leaking! this is insane there are roads were you can't see the road and the storm drains just can't keep up with it all! this morning the middle school lake was at about 3 and a a half feet deep and had spread about halfway across the field. which means i am going back to middle school for a kayaking trip as soon as the rain stops!

on the down side my mom has forbidden me to go and check out our new back yard swimming pool. which is ridicules because i tested the current with a stick and despite the impressive size it is not very fast running, but my Mom, never one to listen to reason refuses to allow me this adventure. i am convinced she still believes i am 5 which is driving me insane.

Problems with movie sword fights

as the direct result of being a fencer i pay particularly close attention to sword fight scenes from movies and let me tell you that is a double edged sword.

on the plus side i see amazing moves to which i can aspire to use on the strip

on the down side all of those little flaws which most people would not pick up on are blatantly obvious to me. right now i would limit myself to just three movies however anyone who is fanatical about any of the following should take this opportunity to stop reading. Star Wars, the Princess Bride, Star Trek(the new one)

all of these movies are favorites of mine but the mistakes are killing me.

First the light SABRE has no guard at all and considering the nature of the weapon anyone could slide along their opponents blade and destroy there opponents weapon and our hand also sabres are a one handed weapon not a choice between a one and two handed weapon.

then in the fight seen between Wesley and Inigo there rapiers bend about 15, 20 degrees up and down. a real rapier would not have much, if any bend to it they are stiff blades. the only blades that bend that much are fencing foils which granted also can bend more than that but they are not for fighting they are purely for sport and most often can not penetrate deeper than skin because they bend that much.

that was my only problem with the sword fighting in this movie everything else was good as far as i could see

in the new star trek movie one of those guys who does a space jump down to that platform says his combat training was fencing, but what he fights with is a katana. that is an entirely different sport altogether. not only that but he does a front flip over one of the bad guys swords. turning your back and exposing the back of your head are both major no, no's in fencing. and more importantly you never take your feet off the ground for any longer than is necessary.

if or rather when i catch more of these flaws i will tell you.

I Feel Pathetic

last night i staid up till 2:30 playing video games. Why? because I'm an idiot so in order to sleep it of i slept until 1:20 wasting most of what looks like the most beautiful day since last weekend.

which is a switch considering yesterdays weather was in the 40's. its still a little chilly but not to bad.

but the really depressing part for me is that i have basically nothing to do today. i guess i will go for a walk or something but I'm to used to waking up at 5 on Saturdays to go to a fencing meet now i have virtually no reason to go to bed to get up early and that lack of drive is slowly screwing over my sleep schedule not to mention i just don't feel tired at the end of the day anymore.

sry for complaining so much. now i am of to find something interesting to do. maybe i will bring a practice foil with me and go to the (insert name of town i live in) oak and scare the heck out of anybody who pulls in by practicing my foot and blade work in the field. nah somebody would be bound to call the police on me i and don't really need a criminal record

Dammit New England

Gahh! the weather was actually nice for a few days! the weather was in the 60 to 70 degree range! there was a nice cross breeze blowing across my yard! it was perfect weather for chilling out in a hammock it was really nice! but now New England weather has gone and changed its mind again! the temp is back in the 50's! and to top it all of its been raining for going on two days straight! curse you mother Nature stop screwing around with us! if you want to remind us what bonefied sunlight looks like then stop blocking out the sun! /^(

Grinding

yeah well i figured that would get your attention. well here is the scoop i went to that stupid black out dance and regretted almost every second of it at first it was kind of cool lots of hot girls and all.

i ran into Laura and here Friends dodged several hug attacks and screwed around with a glow stick for a while that was interesting. especially when some weirdo started doing something that resembled a seizure standing up right next to me.

so i tried walking away from him and when that didn't work i did what any fencer armed with a glow stick would have done and swung it at the loser but when he didn't take the hint and leave me alone i actually got serious about making my point and hitting the loser.

i got him under his left arm just below the rib cage and I'm willing to bet it wasn't pleasant on the other hand it is nigh on impossible to parry with a glow stick and i am used to only worrying about right of way which allowed the jerk to whip my arm with his glow stick and i now have a huge welt on my arm ending in a patch of broken skin

then i had nothing to do really except walk around and watch people dance i can't tell you how many times i started kicking myself for not just getting out there and dancing but for some reason everyone there thinks dancing means grinding, which just isn't me especially not with some person i barely know.

i can't explain it there is just something in me that kept saying there is something fundamentally wrong with this so i could not relax and ended up walking around like and idiot for 3 hours and now my knees hurt.

so yeah basically i just reminded myself why i hate dances. new rules of thumb if you are going to go to a dance then either bring a date or a wing man, or be one of those people who like grinding.

More Than Slightly Annoyed

OK i spent the last hour trying and fail ling to make a slide show of all the fencing related pics that i have. i did manage to get a YouTube link that actually has video of some of us blindfold fencing, but the bottom two videos are completely irrelevant. and half the time it switches to these four absolutely irrelevant videos and i have no idea why or how it keeps doing that but i wish it would knock it off.

but about the slide show thing apparently you can not just add whatever pics you want you have to go through one of these random sights so i made a flicker account (was really easy since i have yahoo mail and flicker is an off shoot of them) then i get all the relevant pics on it, type in the user name to try and bring up the pics for the slide show, instead i got a bunch of kindergarten level drawings.

i spent another 20 min trying to fix it before i gave up and removed the slide show from the blog. and if the video's continue to be a pain i will most likely remove them to. So now i am more than slightly annoyed and tired. night, or rather almost morning, everyone. =^/
